I started in-folk-us in October 2008with a couple of friends who wanted to perform in a Christmas program called Acker Night. Not knowing what to call our act, I was musing at work when I asked myself what are we into? . . .we are into folk . . . and who are we? . . .
What can I say? I idolized the Kingston Trio when I was sixteen and I still love their music today (50 years later I might add). Through the years I was saddened that this great music would not be performed by the original guys as they passed on. But then as luck would have it....
I grew up in Eastern Montana, a great place to be from. Started playing bass in high school on an old Ward's "Airline" bass guitar through a Silvertone amp. I chose bass because my fingers are square on the ends and I absolutely could not play the guitar.
